Debra has provided her services to us for three projects on our home in Mendocino. The first was a “bump out” in the kitchen, the second involved changing out the guest bath to allow for a tiled walk in shower and complimentary tile flooring, while the third was a much grander project, refiguring the master bathroom, existing closet and designing an additional 250 square feet of master closet. This also included designing a wine cellar, an expansion of the second guestroom, and a storage room. All of the projects required Debra’s precise attention to and the integration of a very unique roof line on the existing house. The end product of all three projects, executed individually over three years, was a spectacular enhancement to an already spectacular home.

It was fun working with Debra. Her energy is engaging and her creativity, unmatched. Her work with the contractor and his team was always most collaborative. Her skill at working through the difficulty of marrying the structure of the existing house to the “additions” was masterful. Our only regret is that we have no more projects in mind. But if we do, Debra will be our chosen architect.

Debra designed our +/- 4500 square foot ocean view home in Mendocino. We had an absolutely delightful experience working with her. We started the process with many ideas of what we wanted included in our home. Debra provided the perfect balance helping us through to decisions that were much more realistic for the site and our budget. We never felt pressured to just accept her vision. She was at all times completely respectful of our ideas and dreams. In the end the house was a huge success. We entertained there often on a very large scale and the entire community was extremely impressed with Debra’s work including every little detail in the design. After our home was finished we continued to work with Debra on hardscaping and outdoor entertainment areas. She proposed an inspired design for outdoor showers and a hot tub area which we absolutely loved.

Debra is very involved in the community and will be a real asset to have on your team. Her positive and gentle manner along with absolute professionalism is a winning combination.

Debra was the designer for our custom home on the Coast. We spent many enjoyable hours moving walls around in her office, energized by Scharfenberger chocolate. Because she knows the coast territory, many of Debra's ideas were critical to the beautiful home we now enjoy—e.g. larger deck on the south side, relatively protected from the wind, skylights in places that otherwise would be too dark, etc.). We are in zone over which the Coastal Commission has jurisdiction, and Debra was the torchbearer for “ask for what you want”—while others advised us that we might not be allowed to put the house on the most optimal place on our land, Debra encouraged us to “go for it,” and here we are today! She also gave key advice about what was possible in terms of weight bearing and windows as well as incorporating some feng shui principles and our own ideas whenever possible.
