Project Approach

Collaborating with clients

I believe it is very important for an architect to listen to clients’ voices to determine what is the best approach to creating the best project that responds to clients’ needs as well as overall architectural integrity of a building or group of buildings. Together we can create the house you’ve always dreamed of—built with your aesthetics and lifestyle in mind.

Working with couples

Building a home is a complex, involved process, requiring a myriad of decisions, discussions, and compromises. Open communication and creative problem solving, as well as wisdom gained from other clients’ success, help the project proceed harmoniously.

Building sustainably

As a LEED accredited architect, I incorporate environmentally sensitive materials and design methods into my home designs. While not all projects earn LEED certification, we can always use LEED technologies and methods where they work within the project goals and budget.

Staying in budget

A wise person said, “You can have anything you want, just not everything you want.” Together we clarify your priorities for the project, identifying the areas essential to your vision and those that can be adjusted to keep costs reasonable.

Navigating local building code

New construction and home remodels involve a variety of government departments and their regulations. The bureaucracy can be tedious and, for those new to it, discouraging. My experience steering a project through these entities and their complicated requirements will help expedite the building process and often save money through avoiding expensive pitfalls.
