Debra Beck Lennox is a licensed California architect (#CA 31693), member of the AIA (Architects Institute of America) and LEED accredited. She has been practicing on the North Coast for over 25 years as a designer and has been licensed since 2008.

Debra’s architectural philosophy is to create a balance between the client’s needs, the context of the site, and the value of the built environment on the community. She has lived and practiced on the Mendocino coast for over half of her life.

“I respect the environment and quality development of carefully considered built form. My work reflects an understanding of the most sustainable way of creating space that encourages the users to appreciate the gift of living here in this pristine place. I would describe my work as “Mindful Placemaking”.

Debra’s practice focuses primarily on residential buildings. Her additions and remodels complement the existing forms and materials, but utilize the most recent available materials to create a “green solution” to a client’s program. Accessibility is featured as aging-in-place becomes a common concept that encourages a sustainable lifestyle.

Debra’s architectural skills include managing Coastal Development permits for projects on the Mendocino Coast as well as various types of Commercial projects requiring ADA access. She feels it is best to incorporate these measures from the beginning design if possible but has experience in making modifications to comply with current codes.

Collaboration with the clients and contractors is unique to her business model. It is critical to maintain clear communication to best utilize the resources and skill needed to create a successful project.
